Islamabad: Security forces of Pakistan killed 30 militants who were trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province, the military said on Friday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a press release issued by Pakistan military’s media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated that the movement of a large group of militants belonging to “Indian proxy” was detected by the security forces in the general area of Hassan Khel in North Waziristan tribal district of KPK.
Pakistani troops effectively engaged and thwarted the “terrorists'” attempt to infiltrate. As a result of precise and skillful engagement, all 30 “Indian sponsored” militants were killed, said ISPR.
A large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered from the killed militants, it added.
The operation against the militants comes at a time when Pakistan is witnessing a rise in terror attacks, especially in KPK and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan.
