Kuwait city: The FIB World Cup Pairs padel championship kicked off Monday in Kuwait at Arena 360 Mall and the Rafa Nadal Academy, with the participation of more than 250 male and female players from among the world’s top competitors. The tournament will run until the 9th of this month.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Tournament Director Mishal Al-Ansari emphasized that this event is not only a sporting competition but also a touristic and recreational destination, attracting audiences from both inside and outside the country. Al-Ansari assured that the organizing committee is fully prepared to present this international event with high levels of organization and professionalism, highlighting Kuwait’s capability to manage significant international events and tournaments.
He elaborated that the tournament adopts a knockout format, beginning with the main qualifiers and proceeding through the round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and culminating in the championship match. Al-Ansari invited fans and padel enthusiasts to attend and enjoy the competitions featuring prominent stars and skilled players.
The first day of competition, held under the auspices of the International Padel Federation (FIP) and sponsored by BNK Holding Group, includes 20 matches: 16 in the men’s category and 4 in the women’s. The draw for the opening day featured Kuwaiti players, with Dhari Al-Ansari and his Argentine partner Chioistri set to face Spain’s Rodriguez and his Argentine partner Robini. Additionally, Kuwaiti player Abdulrahman Al-Awadi and his Spanish partner Marcos will compete against Spain’s Gonzalez and his Italian partner Casetta.
