Jerusalem: Over 70,000 Palestinians gathered to perform the Isha and Tarawih prayers on the first day of Ramadan at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, as reported by the Islamic Endowments Department in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Jerusalem Governorate highlighted concerns over measures imposed by the occupation authorities, which include restricting the number of worshipers allowed in the Al-Aqsa Mosque to only a few thousand. Additionally, only 10,000 worshipers from the West Bank will be permitted to attend Friday prayers at the site.
The report also noted that the authorities have implemented restrictions preventing recently released prisoners from entering the mosque. Furthermore, they have limited entry to worshipers aged 55 and above for men and over 50 for women, which has been described as a violation of the right of Muslims to worship freely.
