Peshawar: Pakistan's paramilitary Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province came under attack on Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of at least three attackers, according to police.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a senior police official, CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad, confirmed the attack in a statement to the media. He stated, "The FC headquarters in Peshawar city is under attack and we are responding to it." Initial police reports indicated that a suicide bomber detonated at the FC headquarters gate located near Saddar Main Road in Peshawar city, the provincial capital.
The security forces have successfully killed at least three militants so far and have cordoned off the area to conduct a security and clearance operation. The situation remains tense as operations continue.
Earlier last month, a similar incident occurred when six soldiers were martyred and five militants were killed as security forces thwarted an attack on the FC Headquarters in KPK's Bannu district.
