Hebron: One Palestinian was killed and four others injured on Sunday following a clash with Israeli Forces at the Al-Arroub refugee camp, north of the city of Hebron in the West Bank. A press statement by the Palestinian Health Ministry reported that 27-year-old Mohammad Haddouch had died while four others were injured.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a local press source added that Israeli Forces raided the camp where the clashes occurred, using live fire that led to Haddouch's death from a bullet wound to the stomach. The Israeli forces also destroyed about 20 houses on the eastern side of Jenin camp with planted explosives.
Eyewitnesses told KUNA that the Israeli Forces arrived at the camp at noon with cars loaded with explosives and commenced the demolition operation on more than 20 houses, detonating the explosives simultaneously, with the sound echoing through many cities surrounding the area.
The Ministry also announced the death of an elderly man who was also shot by Israeli Forces at Jenin camp in the northern region of the West Bank. Meanwhile, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas requested an urgent and emergency session of the UN Security Council to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the destruction of entire residential blocks in the Jenin and Tulkarm camps, along with the bombing of dozens of homes.
According to Palestine News Agency (WAFA), the presidency also called on the UN Security Council to urgently intervene and assume its responsibilities to provide international protection for the Palestinian people. They urged the council to pressure the occupying state to halt its grave crimes, which include the displacement of Palestinian citizens and the implementation of a policy of ethnic cleansing, considered a war crime and genocide under international law.
