Muscat: Royal Oman Police said on Tuesday that three people died and two others sustained minor injuries after a boat carrying 25 French tourists capsized off Muttrah in Muscat. In a statement, police said preliminary information indicated the boat overturned about 2.5 nautical miles from Sultan Qaboos Port, with the tourists onboard along with a tour guide and the boat captain.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority of Oman responded at the scene and an investigation is underway, the police confirmed.
