Omani FM Highlights Shared Aspiration in US-Iran Talks

Muscat: Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi confirmed that recent US-Iran talks have "identified a shared aspiration to reach agreement based on mutual respect and enduring commitments." Minister Al-Busaidi shared this update in a post on X, emphasizing that the discussions included core principles, objectives, and technical concerns.

According to Kuwait News Agency, these talks are set to continue next week, with a further high-level meeting provisionally scheduled for May 3rd. The Iranian negotiating delegation was led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff represented the United States in talks that lasted approximately nine hours.

This marks the third round of indirect US-Iran talks focused on Tehran's nuclear file, following two previous rounds in Muscat on April 12 and in Rome on April 19. Both sides have expressed satisfaction with the outcomes, describing the discussions as positive and constructive.
