OIC Welcomes Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Deal

Jeddah: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Saturday welcomed the conclusion of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan about a peace treaty and bilateral relations.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the OIC commended the deal as contributing to promoting the foundations of security and stability in the South Caucasus, highlighting the effective peaceful means of resolving world conflicts. The Jeddah-based Islamic bloc reiterated its support for dialogue between both countries in the context of normalizing their relations.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed on the text of a peace agreement to end nearly four decades of conflict between the South Caucasus countries.
