OIC Criticizes Israel’s Decision to Re-Occupy Gaza

Kuwait city: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed strong condemnation of the recent decision by Israeli authorities to re-occupy the entire Gaza Strip. This move involves the displacement of approximately one million residents from Gaza City and northern regions to the southern part of the enclave.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the OIC's statement describes this action as a further intensification of Tel Aviv's strategy, which includes mass starvation, annihilation, evictions, and a siege on Gaza. The OIC emphasized that these actions are in direct violation of international humanitarian law and challenge relevant United Nations resolutions and International Criminal Court declarations.

The OIC holds the Israeli occupation authority fully responsible for these actions, which have worsened the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. The organization also condemned the escalating actions of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, which occur under the protection of the occupation army. These actions include colonial settlement activities, land confiscation, house demolitions, and repeated attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites, along with withholding Palestinian tax revenues.

Furthermore, the OIC called on the United Nations Security Council to take immediate and decisive action to enforce a cease-fire and ensure the entry of adequate humanitarian aid to all regions of the strip. The organization urged for effective international protection of the Palestinian people and measures to end the Israeli occupation, allowing Palestinians to achieve sovereignty over their territories occupied since 1967.

Earlier today, the Israeli mini-cabinet approved a proposal by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to occupy Gaza City and expand military operations to additional areas and camps within the strip.
