OIC Condemns Israeli Occupation’s Financial Measures Against Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem

Kuwait city: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretariat condemned on Saturday the Israeli occupation decision on freezing the bank accounts of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in occupied Jerusalem and imposing taxes on its properties.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the organization stated that this act is one of the Israeli occupation's repeated attacks on the holy Muslim and Christian sites, as well as the freedom of worship, which constitutes a violation of UN charters, UNESCO, and relevant international agreements.

The OIC warned against the Israeli occupation's continued targeting of holy sites through actions such as bombing, imposing taxes, and restricting access. The organization renewed its call for the international community to take urgent steps to end Israeli violations against holy sites in Palestine and to preserve their identity as religious, humanitarian, and cultural heritage that must be protected.
