Official: Turkiye Bolstering Firefighting Efforts in Several Provinces Amid Blazes

Ankara: Firefighting teams in Turkiye are continuing to combat fires throughout several provinces, said a Turkish official Monday. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry in Turkey, Ibrahim Yumakli, revealed that fires were ongoing in three Turkish provinces: Bursa, Karabuk, and Kahramanmaras.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Yumakli disclosed that teams have dealt with 44 fires throughout the country with thousands of air and land teams involved. He further stated that approximately 3,515 citizens were evacuated in Bursa, while efforts to extinguish blazes in Karabuk have been notably successful.

Turkiye has been experiencing a period of extreme heat, with temperatures soaring above 50 degrees Celsius, coupled with dry conditions that have led to wildfires in several regions. In response, the government has implemented various measures in recent years to counter such natural disasters.
