NCM: No Indications of Early Summer in Kingdom

Riyadh: The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) stressed that no climatic indicators are suggesting an early summer in the Kingdom. It noted that current weather patterns are consistent with normal seasonal averages, according to recent climate models and analyses.

According to Saudi Press Agency, NCM Spokesperson Hussein Al-Qahtani said that forecasts indicate that temperatures will be below normal for two consecutive weeks starting from the end of April. This will be followed by a week during which temperatures will align more closely with their usual averages across most regions of the Kingdom.

He added that seasonal forecasts for this summer (June-July-August) suggest temperatures will likely be above normal across large parts of the Kingdom. Increases are expected to range between one and two degrees Celsius in western, southwestern, and parts of southern regions, while the increase is expected to be less pronounced in other areas.

Al-Qahtani noted that these projections are part of the center's regular seasonal climate studies. He added that NCM will issue a detailed climate report in the coming period outlining the main features of this year's summer and expected changes.

He urged the public to follow official updates issued by the center due to their importance for early preparedness and effective response to climate change.
