Brussels: NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that the alliance has approved a series of measures aimed at countering Russian "hostile actions" and cyber activities. The decision was made during a meeting of foreign ministers from NATO member states. According to Kuwait News Agency, the measures include enhanced intelligence exchange, increased exercises, improved protection of critical infrastructure, strengthened cyber defense, and tougher actions against Russia's "shadow fleet" of oil-exporting ships. The ministers also discussed Russia's "escalating campaign of hostile actions" against NATO countries and agreed to closely cooperate with the European Union to address these issues, emphasizing the global nature of the threats, including the risks associated with the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The statement released after the talks cited Russian support for North Korea's missile and nuclear programs in exchange for soldiers and weapons, expressing concern that these developments could destabilize the Korean Peninsula and even pose a threat to the United States. It condemned Moscow's ongoing conflict in Ukraine as a global threat. NATO's Secretary General reiterated the alliance's "continued support for Ukraine," highlighting the fulfillment of commitments such as financial pledges, security assistance, and training for Kyiv. These efforts aim to "change the trajectory of this conflict once and for all," he added.
