Kuwait: The NATO-ICI Regional Centre in Kuwait, in collaboration with the Regional Public Affairs Centre (PARC), is conducting a training course on the fundamentals of public affairs from February 1 to 5, 2026. The course includes 24 representatives from member states of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and the GCC General Secretariat.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Director of the NATO-ICI Regional Centre Advisor Emad Abdullah Al-Kandari emphasized that the course aims to equip participants with essential knowledge in communication skills and techniques, as well as familiarizing them with public affairs principles and media engagement mechanisms.
Al-Kandari elaborated that the course intends to enhance the professional capabilities of participants in media interactions and improve institutional communication skills in their daily responsibilities. The training program features a mix of lectures and practical exercises, including training on press release preparation, media interviews, and press conference organization.
The program also emphasizes the development of verbal and non-verbal communication skills, media coverage monitoring and analysis, and effective media engagement under various scenarios. Al-Kandari highlighted that the course aligns with the Centre's commitment to supporting capacity-building efforts, fostering expertise exchange among partner countries, and developing national competencies in public affairs.
