Kuwait City: The National Diwan for Human Rights announced the inauguration of a new office at the Kuwait Bar Association to address human rights violations. This office aims to provide a transparent and safe channel for citizens and residents to submit complaints and grievances related to human rights issues.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the establishment of this office is part of the efforts to enhance mechanisms for the protection of human rights in Kuwait. This initiative follows the memorandum of understanding signed between the National Diwan for Human Rights and the Kuwait Bar Association, aiming to strengthen collaborative efforts between the two entities.
The Diwan emphasized its commitment to promoting a culture of human rights and ensuring adherence to national and international charters and treaties. The new office reflects the Diwan's dedication to offering effective means for individuals to report grievances. In 2024, the Diwan received 121 complaints categorized across different areas. Complaints can also be submitted via email at [email protected] or through the Diwan's official website at www.ndhr.org.kw.
