MP Wafaa Al-Shammari: Iraq needs an honest and strong negotiator in demarcating the border with Kuwait

MP Wafaa Al-Shammari called on the government for the Iraqi negotiator in demarcating the borders with Kuwait to be fair and strong and not to compromise on our sea or land borders.

Al-Shammari said, in a press statement today, Tuesday, that “Iraq needs a strong and honest negotiator to redraw the real borders, and that the negotiations be public, not secret or in closed rooms, because Kuwait has exceeded a lot on Iraq’s sea and land borders, including Khawr Abdullah, the Iraqi Bubiyan Island, and the Iraqi Dorra field and many other lands, including villages belonging to Iraq, whose people were displaced and Kuwait took control of them during that dark era.

She added: “The restoration of relations and good neighborliness requires Iraq to return its lands and its oil and sea fields, not to be bargaining and for the Emir to give what he does not have.”
