Mosque of Ibn Tulun.. An Islamic architectural wonder in Egypt

Mosque of Ibn Tulun in the Egyptian capital Cairo is an example of Islamic architecture that stood the test of time.

The mosque is the third oldest in the capital and its minaret is considered the oldest.

Ahmad Ibn Tulun constructed the mosque in 263 Hijra (876 AD). The minaret’s was inspired by infrastructure in ancient Iraq.

The mosque survived floods, fires, and time itself so far, continuing to stand tall during the modern era.
