Kuwait City: Morocco received its first set of U.S. AH-64 Apache attack helicopters.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this event was marked by a ceremony held at the first air base in Sale City. The ceremony was attended by Moroccan officials and an American delegation led by General Michael Langley, Commander of the United States Africa Command.
Moroccan Inspector General of the Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone Mohammad Berrid stated that the delivery of the Apache helicopters represents a pivotal shift in the strategic partnership and military cooperation between Morocco and the United States. General Langley emphasized that the delivery highlights the strength of the US-Moroccan partnership, noting Morocco's status as a major US ally outside NATO.
The initial delivery included six helicopters, part of a deal established in June 2020 between Morocco and the United States. This agreement comprises a total of 24 Apache helicopters and 12 additional aircraft of the same model, alongside advanced weaponry.
