Kuwait City: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi has reiterated the ministry's commitment to advancing the blood transfusion system by upgrading infrastructure, training medical and technical staff, and expanding the donor base. This announcement was made during the inauguration of a blood donation campaign for the Indian community at the blood donation center in Adan, coinciding with World Donor Day.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Awadhi emphasized the significance of blood donation as more than just a medical procedure, describing it as a noble act of solidarity and compassion. He highlighted the importance of June 14, World Donor Day, as an occasion to honor those who voluntarily donate blood, contributing to the saving of lives and the improvement of patients' health.

The campaign, organized by the Indian Doctors Forum in Kuwait and attended by the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, aims to promote the culture of blood donation and recognize it as an essential societal responsibility. Last year, the blood bank received over 90,000 donors and provided nearly 150,000 blood units, in addition to producing more than 190,000 blood products, as noted by Dr. Al-Awadhi.

Expressing gratitude towards donors and volunteers, the Minister assured that Kuwait will continue to lead in supporting humanitarian and health initiatives. Indian Ambassador Dr. Adarsh Swaika commended the Minister's efforts in fostering bilateral relations and supporting health causes. He emphasized the Indian community's commitment to participating in such initiatives, highlighting their significant presence in Kuwait.
