MoD Highlights Importance of Strengthening Air Force for National Security

Kuwait city: Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah has emphasized the critical role of advancing the air force to secure the nation and maintain its stability. This assertion was made during a statement from the Ministry of Defense following the minister's attendance at the concluding ceremony of the "Sky Shield 2025" joint exercise.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the exercise, conducted by the Air Defense Force, included participation from the Bahrain Defense Force's Air Defense Missile Unit, the U.S. Army, and the British Military Mission. Sheikh Abdullah praised the effective collaboration with allied forces, noting that the exercise exemplifies ongoing efforts to enhance combat readiness and air force capability, while fostering joint operations with partner nations.

The minister was greeted by Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraian, Chief of General Staff of Kuwait's Armed Forces, and was briefed on the exercise stages, which highlighted the ability for collaborative action. The statement indicated that Sheikh Abdullah observed live-fire drills showcasing the air-defense systems' proficiency in targeting and the precise coordination among participating units to share knowledge and improve tactical and operational skills.

The event was also attended by prominent figures such as Undersecretary of Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Meshaal Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of Staff Lt. Air Vice Marshal Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Major General Sean M. Salene, Deputy Commander of the U.S. Central Command. The exercise is part of Kuwait's army's regular training programs with allied nations to enhance the air defense personnel's efficiency.
