Baghdad: The Iraqi Ministry of Transportation announced on Tuesday that the southern airspace has been reopened, with ongoing evaluations regarding the reopening of the rest of the Iraqi airspace. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that the southern airspace was reopened following the approval of competent aviation authorities. The ministry emphasized that while this is a significant step, further evaluations are necessary to consider reopening the remaining airspace across the country. The closure of Iraq's airspace was initially implemented at the onset of the military confrontation between Iran and the Israeli occupation. The ministry's decision to reopen the southern airspace marks a cautious approach towards resuming normal air traffic operations, pending further assessments of the geopolitical situation.
