Riyadh: The Ministry of Health is marking World Health Day, observed annually on April 7, by continuing to strengthen preventive actions and promote healthy lifestyles. This effort aligns with an integrated approach that supports the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Vision 2030, aiming to enhance quality of life and advance preventive care through initiatives and programs that drive continuous improvement in public health indicators.
According to Saudi Press Agency, life expectancy in the Kingdom reached 79.9 years in 2025, up from 74 years in 2016, thanks to the efforts of the Health in All Policies Committee, which has strengthened cross-sector collaboration and integrated health considerations into public policymaking. The health system's initiatives have also contributed to a 40% reduction in deaths from non-communicable diseases. Enhanced preventive measures have increased immunization coverage to 97.4% and reduced deaths from communicable diseases by 50%.
The percentage of adults engaging in regular physical activity has climbed to 59%, signaling a notable rise in public health awareness. The ministry is committed to reinforcing preventive measures and advancing public health to ensure sustainable improvements in health indicators and overall quality of life.
