Kuwait City: The Ministry of Defense on Tuesday inaugurated a project to import eight missile gunboats, known as Falaj-3, following a contract agreement with the UAE military hardware company, Edge. The initiative marks a significant step in enhancing Kuwait's maritime security capabilities.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministry emphasized in a press release that the deployment of these gunboats will enhance the combat readiness of Kuwait's armed forces. The project aims to bolster maritime security and safeguard the nation's vital and strategic interests. Edge is tasked with managing the project, which includes the design, construction, testing, and handover of the missile gunboats, along with providing integrated logistical support to ensure operational efficiency.
The inauguration event took place at the Ministry of Defense headquarters. The ceremony was attended by key figures such as the Undersecretary Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Meshal Al-Sabah, executives from Edge, and the UAE Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Matar Al-Nyadi. The project underscores the growing defense collaboration between Kuwait and the UAE, reflecting a shared commitment to regional security and stability.
