Kuwait city: Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, affirmed on Friday that the visit by Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike to the Women's Cultural and Social Society reflects the depth of historical bonds and the solid relationship.
According to Kuwait News Agency, in her welcome remarks to Governor Koike and the accompanying Japanese delegation, the Minister stated that the Governor's presence in Kuwait signifies both countries' shared commitment to elevate developmental, humanitarian, and cultural partnerships. The Minister wished the Governor and her delegation a pleasant stay and success in their efforts to enhance bilateral ties.
Governor Koike expressed her pride in meeting Kuwait's social-work leadership and extended appreciation to the Minister. She affirmed that the meeting reflects the friendship and cooperation between Japan and Kuwait. Koike praised the Society's efforts in promoting women's status, emphasizing the importance of women's empowerment in development and prosperity. She mentioned positive developments in Japan regarding women in leadership roles and expressed a desire for deeper cooperation between the two countries in women's empowerment, education, and culture.
Dr. Manal Al-Daihani, Chairwoman of the Women's Cultural and Social Society, welcomed the delegation, expressing that the visit highlights the historic Kuwait-Japan relations. She appreciated the efforts of the Minister and Japan's Ambassador to Kuwait, Kenichiro Mukai, in empowering women and community development. She praised Japan's experience in innovation and women's leadership as an inspiring model and congratulated Japan on appointing Sanae Takaichi as Prime Minister.
Dr. Nora Al-Shuibi, Head of the Women's Studies and Research Centre at Kuwait University, outlined the Centre's role in supporting Kuwaiti women in education, leadership, and entrepreneurship. She emphasized the Centre's mission to integrate scientific research and public policy in women's affairs, aiming to positively impact family stability and advance Kuwaiti society.
