Minister Of Oil: Iraq Seeks To Determine Paths For Investing In Renewable Energy

Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani stressed the importance of international cooperation in confronting climate challenges, reducing emissions and diversifying energy sources.

Abdul Ghani said, after his participation in the sixth session of the Russian Energy Week REW Forum, that “Iraq seeks to identify important paths for investing in renewable energy, and converting burned energy into clean energy, to enhance national production by increasing and supporting investment projects, in addition to sustaining and increasing oil production.”

He pointed out the importance of communication and cooperation with oil-producing countries, organizations and stakeholders to formulate a realistic vision to confront the challenges facing global oil markets, noting that “participation in specialized forums is an opportunity to learn about the latest developments, research and specialized papers in the field of energy and climate, in addition to meeting with oil and energy ministers and officials in the countries of the world, to enhance relations and cooperation in a way that serves common interests.”
