Min. of Social Affairs: Kuwait Revises Domestic Violence Law

Kuwait city: Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah announced that the Cabinet has approved a comprehensive amendment to the domestic violence law. The announcement was made during her keynote speech at the family and child protection conference, attended by Minister of Justice and Chairman of Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies Counselor Nasser Al-Sumait, along with other state officials and civil society organizations.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the amendment represents a complete revision of the current legislation. It aims to address legislative gaps and enhance the systems of protection and prevention. The revised law is designed to be a comprehensive and effective legal framework to protect families and ensure their stability. It aligns with international conventions and best practices.

Dr. Al-Huwailah emphasized that the conference highlights Kuwait's dedication to strengthening an integrated system for family and child protection. The goal is to safeguard rights through the coordinated efforts of relevant bodies.
