Min. Al-Omar Highlights Strategic Partnership with Microsoft to Boost Government Innovation

Al Asimah: Minister of State for Communications Affairs Omar Al-Omar emphasized the ministry's dedication to advancing digital integration and fostering government innovation through strategic collaboration with Microsoft. In his address during a high-level meeting with Microsoft's Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Judson Bezek-Althoff, Minister Al-Omar outlined Kuwait's progress towards developing an integrated digital system that aligns with global advancements, improves government service quality, and nurtures an environment supportive of innovation and investment.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Minister Al-Omar underscored the partnership's role in empowering national talents via specialized training programs in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and advanced technologies. These initiatives aim to bolster the capabilities of Kuwaiti professionals in steering the transition towards a competitive and sustainable digital economy.

Acting Chairman of the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), Sheikh Athbi Jaber Al-Sabah, highlighted the significance of launching the AI-powered data centre project in collaboration with Microsoft. With CITRA's direct support, this initiative marks a crucial milestone in Kuwait's digital future. Sheikh Athbi emphasized CITRA's commitment to bridging the gap between government agencies and international partners, such as Microsoft, to establish and operate advanced data centres catering to the nation's needs and supporting its digital transformation goals.

Judson Bezek-Althoff presented key aspects of the agreement, outlining prospects for cooperation in various areas, including accelerating investments in artificial intelligence technologies, developing data centres, and incorporating Microsoft Copilot solutions.

This meeting is part of ongoing coordination efforts to implement data centre projects, centres of excellence, and innovation initiatives, as well as to integrate Microsoft Copilot solutions into government operations. These efforts aim to enhance performance efficiency and improve the quality of services provided to citizens and residents.
