Kohat: At least two Federal Constabulary (FC) personnel and six militants were killed, with 18 others injured, in a militant attack in Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan, police reported on Monday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Kohat Regional Police Officer Abbas Majeed confirmed in a statement to the media that two FC personnel were killed and 18 others were injured in an attack targeting an FC fort in the Torah Wadi area of Doaba in Hangu district of KPK. The officer stated that FC soldiers retaliated against the attack, resulting in the death of six militants; however, the militants managed to escape with the bodies of their accomplices.
He further mentioned that the victims and injured were transported to the nearest military hospital. The attack takes place amid an increase in terror incidents in Pakistan, particularly in the KPK and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan.
