Kuala lumpur: Malaysia's foreign ministry has strongly condemned the ongoing military aggression by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, expressing its support for the proposed 60-day ceasefire facilitated by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar. The ministry emphasized that this ceasefire should lead to a more permanent cessation of hostilities.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Malaysia stressed that any temporary halt in the conflict should not be exploited as a tactical advantage. The ministry highlighted the critical need for unrestricted humanitarian access to prevent widespread starvation in the region. It also reiterated Malaysia's firm condemnation of the Israeli occupation's actions, including the targeting of civilian infrastructure and the activities of Israeli settlers in Gaza and the West Bank.
The foreign ministry's statement underscored Malaysia's unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, advocating for their right to self-determination and the establishment of a sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Additionally, Malaysia called for Palestine's full membership in the United Nations.
