Algiers: Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan expressed deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis and genocide in Gaza, caused by the Israeli occupation force.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the minister stated on Saturday that the over 22-month Israeli occupation siege has led to a severe shortage of food and clean water, resulting in famine, as well as a shortage of medical supplies.
Malaysia is deeply concerned about the escalating violence against Palestinians waiting in lines to receive humanitarian aid, Hasan noted, highlighting that over 1,300 individuals have been killed in these incidents since May. He emphasized the importance of the recent High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Questions of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution held in New York. The conference garnered widespread international support for a two-State solution and called for urgent and sustained humanitarian assistance.
The minister expressed Malaysia's approval of the international community's shift towards condemning Israel and moving towards pragmatic, action-oriented measures to resolve the question of Palestinian statehood. Malaysia reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and their inalienable right to self-determination, Hasan stated. He added that the country remains steadfast in supporting the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, and Palestine's rightful membership in the United Nations.
