KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia and Indonesia expressed disappointment over the UN Security Council's (UNSC) inability to approve a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, following a veto by the United States despite the resolution receiving approval from 14 other member-states. According to Kuwait News Agency, both the Malaysian and Indonesian foreign ministries released separate statements highlighting that the use of a veto undermines the international community's efforts to end the ongoing genocide in Gaza. They urged the UNSC to take decisive actions to address the humanitarian crisis and safeguard international peace and stability. The ministries further warned that failing to implement a ceasefire agreement would exacerbate the plight of Palestinian civilians.
