Magnitude 3.2 Earthquake Strikes South of Irbil in Kurdistan Region

Irbil: A light earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale occurred south of Irbil Governorate in Iraq's Kurdistan Region, as reported by the Iraqi Transport Ministry's General Directorate of Meteorology and Seismology. The event took place approximately 70 km south of Irbil and was felt by residents in nearby areas. Fortunately, there were no reports of casualties or damage resulting from the quake.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Iraqi Seismology Center has documented a total of 38 earthquakes since last July, with 17 of these occurring within Iraq. The recent seismic activity highlights the ongoing monitoring efforts by Iraqi authorities to ensure the safety and preparedness of the local population in the face of such natural events.
