Madinah Governor Unveils Learning Cities Program Logo

Madinah: Governor of Madinah Region Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz stressed that the Learning Cities program embodies the directives of the Saudi leadership in investing in people, promoting a culture of lifelong learning, and building a knowledge-based society that contributes to developing human capabilities, enhancing innovation and productivity, and encouraging positive participation in the development journey, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this came during the launch of the Learning Cities program logo in Madinah, which reflects the city's identity as a learning city and highlights the application of the main learning domains and the general characteristics of learning cities.

Prince Salman reviewed the Learning Cities program strategic plan for Madinah, developed in accordance with the main learning domains and the approved characteristics and standards, aligned with the requirements of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities. The plan aims to entrench a culture of lifelong learning, strengthen integration of efforts across various sectors, and contribute to achieving sustainable development.

The launch is an extension of the national achievement of Madinah, following its UNESCO accreditation as a learning city within the Global Network of Learning Cities, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to supporting sustainable education and adopting best international practices for building learning societies.
