Libyan Authorities Release 12 Illegal Immigrants from Iraq

Tripoli: The Libyan authorities have released 12 Iraqi nationals who were detained while attempting to illegally migrate to Europe. The announcement was made by Ahmad Al-Sahhaf, the Charge D'Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Tripoli, who confirmed the release on Saturday. According to Kuwait News Agency, the release is the result of intensive negotiations between the Iraqi Embassy and Libyan authorities over the past two months. These efforts were focused on ensuring the safe return of the detained individuals to Iraq. Ahmad Al-Sahhaf took this opportunity to caution the youth in Iraq about the dangers associated with illegal immigration and human trafficking networks. He emphasized the embassy's commitment to addressing this issue, noting that they successfully facilitated the return of 25 Iraqi nationals over the past year.
