Lebanese Prime Minister Calls for Increased Arab Support Amid Elections

Beirut: Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, while casting his ballot in the country's municipal and local elections on Sunday, expressed hope that Arab states would provide more support to the country. The elections mark the first to be held since 2016, reflecting a significant moment for Lebanon as it seeks to rebuild and develop its infrastructure.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Lebanese Government, since the start of its mandate, has committed itself to reconstruction. Prime Minister Salam highlighted the urgent need for development and renovation in the capital Beirut, pointing out the craters on roads, waste collection disruptions, and heavy traffic as pressing issues that require attention.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar, during an inspection of ballot stations, expressed satisfaction with the electoral process "despite some complaints." This third phase of the elections is being conducted in Beirut, the Bekaa, and Baalbek, marking a critical step in Lebanon's political landscape.
