Beirut: Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun on Sunday extolled Beirut's "deep-rooted" relations with Kuwait, saying these ties are based on mutual respect and cooperation across various fields.
According to Kuwait News Agency, President Aoun expressed his "pleasure" in responding to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's invitation. The Lebanese president regarded his official visit to Kuwait as a testament to the "historic and brotherly" relations that Kuwait and Beirut share.
He emphasized the immense gratitude of the Lebanese people for Kuwait's persistent support, particularly during times of adversity in Beirut. President Aoun noted that his visit should provide impetus to a series of fresh bilateral agreements.
Discussing the key issues on his agenda with His Highness the Amir, President Aoun highlighted existential challenges amid "trying circumstances" and matters of mutual concern as top priorities.
