Beirut: Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati called on all countries that sponsored the ceasefire agreement with Israeli occupation forces to assume their responsibilities and stop the aggression. A statement from Mikati's office urged these countries to uphold the ceasefire deal, signed on November 27, 2024, and take action to stop the Israeli aggression on Lebanese territories.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Lebanon's Ministry of Health Emergency Operations Center announced that the death toll from Israeli occupation gunfire in southern villages has risen to three, with at least 22 others injured.
Separately, the Lebanese Army confirmed that one of its members was killed and another injured due to direct gunfire by Israeli occupation in southern Lebanon. The army also affirmed its commitment to facilitating the return of displaced Lebanese to their villages and supporting them against the continuous aggression by the Israeli occupation.
The ceasefire agreement required Israeli occupation forces to withdraw from Lebanese territories within 60 days. However, Israel has openly stated it had no intention to meet the deadline.
