Beirut: Lebanese Army troops have begun deploying in southern Lebanon, specifically in the regions south of the Litani river, in coordination with the UN peacekeeping mission (UNIFIL), the military announced on Wednesday. The deployment aims to reinforce the presence of regular forces to impose state authority in the region. According to Kuwait News Agency, the army emphasized that the operation was carried out in coordination with UNIFIL. The army stated its commitment to state obligations, particularly regarding deploying forces south of the Litani river. Civilians returning to their villages in the south have been advised to avoid areas where occupation forces maintained positions. The cease-fire has prompted many Lebanese to return to their hometowns. Roads leading south have been congested since the early hours following the cease-fire's implementation.
