Lebanese Army Refutes Claims of Airspace Violation Over Syria

Beirut: The Lebanese Army on Sunday firmly denied allegations that its air force had entered Syrian airspace to observe military activities across the border.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the military issued a statement categorically dismissing these claims as unfounded. The statement emphasized that military units stationed along the eastern frontiers are actively monitoring the situation and implementing appropriate measures to manage it. The Lebanese Army highlighted ongoing coordination with Syrian authorities to address any potential developments, underscoring the importance of precise news reporting to prevent negative consequences.

The military urged media outlets to depend exclusively on official statements from the army. The reports in question had suggested that movements by Syrian tribesmen posed a threat to cross the border, aiming to exert pressure for the release of Syrians detained in Lebanon.
