Riyadh: Philanthropic officials and leading workers in the humanitarian sector on Tuesday lauded the State of Kuwait's relief efforts throughout the world, aiding people in need at times of catastrophes.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Abdullah Al-Muhaidli, Secretary General of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO), affirmed during the Fourth Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum that Kuwaiti public and private associations have been steadily providing aid to refugees and the displaced in countries afflicted with natural and human-made disasters. The organization is following up, with admiration, on these humanitarian and relief tasks, particularly those undertaken by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, an effective member in the organization.
Mohammad Baharethah, the Executive Manager of the Yemeni relief association, "Istijaba," highlighted Kuwait's diverse relief projects in Yemen. These projects include construction of villages, hospitals, water networks, roads, and orphanage houses, in addition to executing programs for empowering the youth. Baharethah also seized the opportunity to congratulate the State of Kuwait on its 64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day, affirming that the Yemeni people share the Kuwaitis their joy.
For his part, Dr. Mohammad Al-Hadid, Chairperson of the Jordanian Red Crescent, praised the State of Kuwait's commitment to supporting humanitarian projects in the region and the world. He noted the existing cooperation between the Jordanian and Kuwaiti Red Crescent associations. Dr. Al-Hadid also expressed felicitations to Kuwait on their national occasions, recognizing Kuwait's exemplary role on behalf of the Arab States in relieving those afflicted in catastrophe-stricken regions.
