Amman: The Kuwaiti junior national handball team concluded their participation in the first Asian Under-17 Handball tournament, hosted by Jordan, which serves as a qualifier for the World Cup in Morocco next month, after losing to the Qatari team 26-22.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Kuwaiti junior team played a strong match against Qatar, managing to keep up with the opposing team's attacks, but ultimately, the Qatari team prevailed. This marked the team's fourth match in the tournament.
The Kuwaiti team initially showed promise by winning their first match against Hong Kong. However, they faced challenges in subsequent games, losing to Bahrain and Iran in the first round. Despite the losses, the team demonstrated commendable performance throughout the tournament.
In preparation for the tournament, the Kuwaiti team participated in a training camp, which was part of their preparations for the Asian Cup, scheduled to be held in the summer of 2026.
