Casablanca: A high-level workshop focusing on leading supreme audit institutions was inaugurated on Monday, with participation from the Undersecretary of Kuwait's State Audit Bureau (SAB), Yousef Al-Mazrouei. This event, organized by the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI), aims to bolster the capabilities of these institutions. According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Mazrouei emphasized that the workshop's objectives include supporting the effective handling of duties by supreme auditing institutions in accordance with recognized international standards. Moreover, the workshop seeks to enhance the independence of these institutions. Al-Mazrouei also noted that the workshop will cover a range of pertinent topics, including the reform of public financial management, accountability, risks, and both global and regional challenges. The IDI, established in 1986, functions as an independent body affiliated with the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), with a mission to support the capa bilities of supreme audit institutions in member countries, particularly in developing nations.
