Kuwait city: Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) Chairman Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim affirmed on Monday the State of Kuwait's endeavors to overhaul its legislations, measures, and policies for abiding by the UN conventions against corruption. Speaking at the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties (COSP11) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, Al-Ibrahim emphasized Kuwait's commitment to implementing these international standards.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Ibrahim highlighted that Kuwait has enacted new legislations aimed at achieving full compliance with the UN convention against corruption. Notably, Law 69/2025 was introduced, granting greater jurisdictions and independence to the authority. This legislative move is part of Kuwait's broader strategy to strengthen its anti-corruption framework.
Additionally, Law 79/2025 was issued, focusing on international judicial cooperation in criminal cases. Al-Ibrahim also mentioned that efforts are underway to develop the second phase of the national strategy to enhance integrity and combat corruption. This initiative aligns with the criteria and recommendations set forth by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), underscoring Kuwait's proactive approach in addressing corruption and promoting transparency.
