Kuwait city: Kuwait's Namaa Charity Society has successfully implemented a series of relief and development projects across various regions in Chad, significantly impacting the lives of thousands.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Khaled Al-Shammari, Head of the Relief and Development Sector at Namaa, announced that 700 food baskets were distributed to needy families, providing them with enough sustenance for a month. This initiative was part of urgent measures to combat food insecurity in the region.
Additionally, 225 eye surgeries were conducted, including cataract removals and lens implants, which restored vision for hundreds of people. Al-Shammari highlighted that the projects also involved laying the foundation stone for three community centers, an orphanage, and a middle school designed to accommodate 300 students.
The charity's efforts further included the inauguration of five artesian wells, which are expected to benefit around 2,500 individuals. A fully integrated village was also established, comprising 50 homes and essential services aimed at enhancing stability, education, and access to clean water.
Al-Shammari expressed gratitude for the continuous support from Kuwait's leadership and donors, which he credited for the substantial humanitarian achievements in Chad.
