According to Kuwait News Agency, the historical timeline begins in 1913 when lights were turned on at Seif Palace for the first time, marking a significant technological advancement during the reign of Kuwait's 7th ruler, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah. In 1976, several key developments took place, including the distribution of 1,721 housing lots in the Mishref Area by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, the ratification of an agreement to establish the United Arab Shipping Company by Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, and the establishment of a fund for the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
In 1980, Iranian Foreign Minister Sadeq Qotbzadeh survived an assassination attempt during an official visit to Kuwait, highlighting a tense period in regional relations. The year 2001 saw Hamad Al-Afasi earn a bronze medal in the world shooting championship in Cyprus, showcasing Kuwait's growing presence in international sports.
