Kuwait’s Hearing-Impaired Futsal Team Qualifies for World Cup After Victory Over Kyrgyzstan

Kuwait City: Kuwait's hearing-impaired futsal team has secured a spot in the World Cup tournament after a decisive 6-3 victory against Kyrgyzstan at the Asian and Oceana tournament held in Iran.

According to Kuwait News Agency, this achievement marks a significant milestone for the team, showcasing their skill and determination on an international stage. The tournament was a critical platform for the team, allowing them to demonstrate their prowess and secure a coveted position in the upcoming World Cup.

This qualification adds to a rich history of sports achievements for Kuwait, including the establishment of the Kuwait Judo and Taekwondo Federation in 1974 and the consistent leadership of Sheikh Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee until 1990. The year 2019 also saw Kuwaiti athletes representing the Kuwait Oil Company's fire team triumph in an international competition in New Zealand.

In addition to sports, Kuwait has made strides in cultural and industrial sectors. The first iron manufacturing factory in Kuwait, launched in 2002, boasts an impressive annual production capacity of 450,000 tons. Meanwhile, significant efforts have been made to preserve the nation's history, with 800 historic and rare Kuwaiti documents archived in Istanbul's Ottoman archive center in 2015.

The commitment to cultural development is further exemplified by the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL) signing an agreement in 2021 to establish a museum dedicated to Kuwait's football history in the Rumaithya area. This initiative reflects the country's dedication to celebrating and preserving its rich sporting heritage.

Kuwait's ongoing achievements in various fields highlight the nation's vibrant history and its continuous pursuit of excellence on both national and international stages.
