Kuwait city: The Ministry of Health, represented by the Elderly Health Services Department, has launched an awareness campaign addressing the risks associated with polypharmacy. This campaign, which began on August 17 and will run until August 21, focuses on educating the elderly and their caregivers about the importance of safe and balanced medication use.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the campaign features events at various locations, beginning at Al-Assima Mall from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. Subsequent events will be held on Monday at the Al-Oyon Polyclinic from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm, Tuesday at Jabriya Health Center during the same hours, continuing Wednesday at Bayan Health Center, and concluding on Thursday at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm.
This initiative is part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to improve community awareness regarding the dangers of using multiple medications, particularly among seniors. It also aims to encourage regular consultations with healthcare professionals for medication review.
