Kuwait’s EPA Committed to Cooperation with Private Sector

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Environment Public Authority (EPA) affirmed its commitment to enhance cooperation, supporting national efforts aimed at protecting the environment and strengthening sustainable development. The Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Omniya Company for Eco-friendly Buildings and Green Utilities, as part of its responsibilities to support environmental initiatives, EPA Acting Chief Nouf Behbehani told KUNA.

According to Kuwait News Agency, this cooperation reflects the effective role of public-private partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals, Behbehani noted. For her part, Omniyah's Chief Operating Officer Farah Shaaban emphasized that Omniya is one of the leading initiatives in promoting the concept of a circular economy and encouraging participation through volunteer work.

The memorandum focuses on fostering a culture of plastic waste recycling, reducing its risks, and strengthening circular economy mechanisms through joint initiatives and practical projects, Shaaban added.
