Kuwait’s Commitment to GCC Environmental Initiatives Highlighted at Ministerial Meeting

Kuwait city: Kuwait is firmly dedicated to supporting collaborative environmental projects within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with a focus on securing a clean and safe environment, stated Nof Behbehani, the Acting Director General of the Environment Public Authority (EPA), during the 45th meeting of the GCC Environment Ministers.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Behbehani highlighted that the meeting’s goal was to strengthen cooperative efforts in the environmental sector. She emphasized the importance of enhanced coordination among GCC countries in the face of global climate change, dwindling natural resources, and increasing pollution levels.

Khaled Al-Snaidi, the assistant GCC Secretary General for economic affairs, also addressed the meeting, stressing that GCC states have shown growing concern for environmental and climate issues in recent years. National strategies have been implemented to improve the management of natural resources, reduce carbon emissions through renewable energy expansion, and execute green hydrogen and waste recycling projects.
