Kuwait City: Kuwait's International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) and Patients Helping Fund Society have initiated a project to bolster healthcare and water services in Sudan.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the project consists of setting up a surgical camp and providing solar energy units to support water plants and health institutions in Gedaref, River Nile, and Khartoum. This initiative aims to enhance medical services and improve health infrastructure in these regions. During the inauguration in Gedaref, Minister of Health and Social Development Ahmad Al-Amin Adam highlighted that such initiatives are crucial for supporting the health system, especially as the state accommodates around three million displaced individuals from conflict zones.
The minister stated that these projects are essential in alleviating the stress on healthcare facilities and addressing humanitarian challenges, expressing gratitude to Kuwait, the IICO, and the Patients Helping Fund Society for their continued support. Dr. Abdulmajid Fadlallah, the executive director of the society in Sudan, mentioned that the project involves conducting 200 surgeries and installing solar systems to ensure sustainable water and healthcare services in the targeted areas.
